A first post where I tell you who, what, why, where, when and how. Or something like that.

Wow, this must be the longest blog title I have ever written. Anyhow, it is quite descriptive of what a first post should do, so here we go.

Who? My name is Irene, nice to meet you. I am a graduate in Mathematics, though I’ve always been very interested in the english language and its literatures and for a while I considered majoring in English literature. In the end the practical side of life won me over and I crunched numbers for a living for some time. I am currently a stay-at-home mam and sometimes a writer and always a reader.

What? Just another blog out there. I want Tea and all things bookish to be an outlet for my literary pursuits and random thoughts on books. One of the main reasons why I have started this blog is because I want to join that great online community that is The Classics Club. So stay tuned for my list of classics to read in the next five years.

Why? I have long wanted to ‘educate’ myself better by reading more classics and exploring a more diverse range of literatures outside the conventional canon of English masterpieces, whatever that means. And I want to keep a record of that lifelong journey as well, so what better than a blog.

Where? Oh well, in case you’re curious, I’m writing from Switzerland. I was born in Tenerife (Spain) though and have lived in several other countries in between but I don’t really think all this information is relevant.

When? Starting right now and whenever I fancy posting something around here.

How? C’mon, by now you all know how blogs work. To be honest, I haven’t worked out a posting schedule or anything like that, so for the time being I’ll just go through the motions and write about books as I read them or once I finish them.

As I said, nice to meet you. Hope you enjoy this blog and stay a while.

Cheers,

Irene
